A great deal on diabetic test strips submitted to us by one of our readers. Plus a coupon code to save you an additional 10%! Cheapest test strips we’ve found!
As a follow-up to last week’s article on how to find inexpensive blood glucose testing strips, we’ve found yet another source for getting big discounts on testing supplies, thanks to one of our readers. This is the best deal we’ve found yet on brand new test strips and you won’t even have to worry about checking the expiration date with these!
An online retailer named American Diabetes Wholesale is offering a 49% discount on TRUEbalance brand blood glucose test strips, which are already one of the least expensive brands on the market. Here’s the deal… They are currently offering five boxes, a total of 250 test strips, for $63.96. For the average diabetic who tests their blood sugar levels 3 times each day, this is almost a three month supply. Most diabetics (or their insurance companies) typically end up paying about $1 each for test strips at their local pharmacy, so this is obviously a pretty good deal.
O.K., What’s The Catch?
Is there a “catch”? Yes, but not much of one. Just as with all other test strip manufacturers, TRUEbalance test strips will only work with TRUEbalance brand blood glucose monitors. So, if you don’t have one already, you’ll need to buy one. The good news is, you can get a TRUEbalance test meter from the same company for less than $10. Not bad. It might not be “free”, but you certainly come out well ahead in the long run. Obviously, if you have a really good insurance plan, which covers everything with a low/no co-pay, this isn’t going to save you any money. If you are one of the millions of Americans currently without health insurance though, this should help to save you a ton of money.
The Discount Coupon Code
Doing our own research, we were also able to find the code for an online coupon that will save you an additional 10% off the cost of your order. The discount only applies to blood glucose monitors and test strips, so it will not apply to anything else you might happen to purchase. The coupon expires on May 30, 2010. The coupon code is ADWGLU10 . You can either enter this code manually when you check-out from the site’s shopping cart, or you can follow this URL to have it automatically added to your cart when you check-out using THIS URL.
How To Get The Discount On Test Strips
It’s pretty simple. Just point your browser to American Diabetes Wholesale’s Website . To find the specific offer page for the discounted test strips, look for the search box on the left-hand side of the page labeled “Search by Products” and enter the SKU number 2129200312PK5. Click Go! To get to the page with the $9.99 blood glucose test monitor, use the same search box to enter the SKU number 2129200313. That’s it! The company offers free shipping for orders over $100. Otherwise, you will have to pay $7 for shipping. Depending on which state you live in, you might not be requires to pay sales tax though.
Compared To Other Test Strip Brands
The same company carries most lines of blood glucose monitors and test strips at prices well below what you will usually find them at your local pharmacy. Even when those discounts are taken into account though, you still come out far, far ahead buying the TRUEbalance brand it seems. Just for example, they also offer a OneTouch Ultima Diabetes Monitoring Kit Combo Pack, which includes a One Touch Ultra blood glucose monitor, 100 Ultra Blue Test Strips and 100 lancets for $161.25. Last I checked, you could get 100 OneTouch lancets for less than $11 (postage paid) on Amazon.Com. So, for roughly $87 MORE you get a $11 box of lancets, a meter that TRUEbalance sells for $9.99 and 150 LESS test strips! It seems pretty clear that someone has to pay for all of those “free” test meters, kickbacks to physicians, fancy packaging and massive amount of advertising that OneTouch does each and every month.
