Insulin Producing Cell Source Identified By Scientists

Scientists at the Joslin Diabetes Center (JDC) have shown that insulin producing pancreatic cells can form after birth or after injury from the progenitor cells within a pancreas that were not beta cells. This finding contradicts a widely cited clinical study that had previously concluded it impossible.
