Public Disclosure: FreeDiabetesTestSupplies.Com
In 2009 the Federal Trade Commission created new rules regarding website advertising, articles, endorsements and blogging. Although it is not really clear what the FTC’s distinction is between a “blog” and a “website”, nor does it specifically lay out guidelines as to what constitutes an “endorsement”, the new rules made it clear that website owners must publicly disclose their sources of revenue, especially when companies that provide that revenue may be mentioned in blogs, stories or articles.
So far, these new rules have neither been enforced, nor challenged in court, to the best of our knowledge. However, we feel that the FTC is taking a step in the right direction in regards to consumer rights and we wish to comply with these rules to the best of our ability.
The majority of revenues generated by this website are through the purchase of “banner ads” by advertisers. Some of these advertisers pay us a flat fee, while others pay on a pay-per-click or pay-per-lead basis. A small number of advertisers compensate this website based upon a percentage of sales generated by leads referred to them through links from our website. Advertisers generally use browser “cookies” to track the origination of traffic to their websites. Those wishing to avoid having this website shown as a link originator may do so by adjusting their browser settings to not allow the use of cookies or through the use of proxy servers or similar software.
Freediabetestestsupplies.com makes use of advertising partners such as Google, which buy advertising space on our website on behalf of third parties. It collects all advertising fees from these third parties and pays us directly. We have absolutely no way of knowing who these advertisers are, how much they are paying us, how much Google is charging them, or any other data that would tend to identify these advertisers. Therefore, we (and thousands, if not millions, of other websites) have absolutely no way of complying with a full list of revenue sources that the FTC is asking for. We assume that this issue will some day be legally resolved, but at the moment there is no practical way for any company doing business with Google to produce a list of companies that advertise on their own websites.
Below is a list of the companies known to us that we have in the past received advertising revenues, commissions, or any other form of compensation from. This list will be updated annually. Please note that this site does not have direct relationships with any pharmaceutical companies. We do not request, nor do we receive, “free samples” of any kind. We do not “endorse” any particular product or service. If you have any questions, please direct them to us via our contact page.
