Researchers Release More Data Diabetes Genes

The most reliable indicator to predict that a person will develop type 2 Diabetes is the presence of insulin resistance. Insulin, which is produced in the pancreas, is the hormone responsible for making sure that glucose reaches tissues and organs in the body, like muscles. Insulin resistance is characterized by the low tissue response to insulin and is counteracted by a greater production of insulin by the pancreas.
